Wow how time flies! We often wonder if time moves faster in the Andes mountains! We have a few photos from July-September below and many stories to share with you all at your churches. We will be going back to the U.S. for home assignment from April 2023 to June 2023. But more on that later, let’s highlight some of October and November!
In October we had many unique opportunities and experiences. I was able to preach twice and both times were in Spanish! It was challenging but thankfully we have some wonderful and patient pastors here in Quito who are very supportive. One of our goals here as missionaries is to support the local church and look forward to more opportunities to serve!
Also in October, Andréa began the process of revising the NILI textbooks with our Profesora Adrianna. They have been diligently combing through each chapter, section and lesson to make the best and most effective textbook possible! Andréa has also been involved in many meetings that could help shape the future of the NILI program, so please keep praying for God’s direction and guidance!
As for November, it is shaping up to be another incredible month. NILI recently welcomed another professional student and with the additional student came another professor. We are so excited about God’s provision and the growth potential for NILI. Also in November, we decorated for Christmas and had many Christmas adventures with fellow missionaries here in Quito. We had a NILI Thanksgiving dinner and will also have a traditional one on Thanksgiving day with our missionary team, scheduled around World Cup games, of course!
Speaking of, Ecuador is in the World Cup and we are loving every minute of celebrating and learning more about the culture here through this beautiful sport. It is so amazing to see so many jerseys and talk with so many people about their love for their country and their hopes and dreams for this team. So as you root for your country, please also join us in rooting for Ecuador!
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2

We just had the best visit with Matt and Andrea at our local church to share about Quito and all the great work going on. It is our prayer that God continues to use and guide and protect them in their service.
