We have had a busy few weeks here in Quito! Our students are in full semester mode and have faced some adversities. Along with the director, Andréa has been able to encourage the students as they push through some of these challenges. We have also been working on another project with both NILI (Nazarene Institute of Language Immersion) and the seminary itself. So apologies for the lack of post last week!
Our time here has been a mix of every emotion possible (welcome to missions)! There is continued hope for the NILI program, as Andréa has been working with Pastora Lucy (NILI Director) on our upcoming summer semester! We have also begun to start planning, dreaming, and hoping what God will allow us to continue to do here in Quito and with this amazing team of missionaries on campus!
We have become more comfortable with our neighborhood and our malls, and really enjoy trips off campus. On Valentine’s Day, we went to the mall, ate lunch, did some shopping and afterwards realized how quick the weather changes here! Walking back to our apartment with our groceries from our campus gate was quite fun!
There is some exciting news to share that we are moving into a bigger apartment here on campus! This will be beneficial for us in hosting students, other missionaries, and our new apartment is closer to our office! We have been working on getting the apartment ready for the past few weeks, and hope to be moving very shortly (we will share pictures as well).
Our next week is pretty incredible, as we get to travel to the Galapagos Islands on March 3rd and will be there for five days! We are tremendously blessed to be able to go on this trip in this semester, as this is an important part of the NILI program and we will have better knowledge to share with others moving forward!
Please continue to pray for our students, both spring and summer, our director Pastora Lucy, and for God to provide us with the hope and passion to continue our work here in this beautiful place!
Praying for your move.
Send lots of pictures of the Galapagos islands, it’s on my bucket list! Have fun!
Love you guys! Can’t wait to see you at ordination!
Tami
Thank you so much for the update. It’s fun living vicariously through you. Prayers continue. I am still waiting with many others I’m sure for the Lord to open doors. It’s amazing how you can think that it’s all planned out ticket in hand and then everything changes. Be blessed as you continue to bless others.
